Death Angel by Linda Fairstein
I don’t know why I continue to read the novels by former Manhattan prosecutor Linda Fairstein since I am always mildly disappointed. Habit? Familiarity? The NYC setting? (always a plus for me!)
Whatever the reason, I did purchase Fairstein’s latest mystery, Death Angel. In keeping with her penchant for constructing her stories around a NYC landmark, the novel takes place in Central Park. The history of the Park and the neighboring landmarks is interesting. But the plodding plot and the increasingly tiresome antics of the crime solving threesome, Assistant DA Alex Cooper and her police pals Mike Chapmen and Mercer Wallace make for a dull read.
If you haven’t read Linda Fairstein, I recommend the earlier, zippier novels in this series.
