Two months into 2016, the defining traits of last year’s housing market—bumper sales, higher sales prices, limited inventory—are still in evidence.
January is typically a slow month, but in Davidson County the number of closings was up 6.7% compared to January of last year. The average sales price was $310,707.
Inventory remains startling low for homes priced under $500,000.
The same holds true in Williamson County. The number of closings was up 22.8% compared to January of 2015. The average sales price was just over $500,000.
Unlike Davidson County however, inventory remains low at all price points in Williamson. The exception was homes priced over $1,300,000 where at the end of January, there was a selection of over 100 homes from which to choose.
