American In Paris Mysteries, Colleen Cambridge
There is a sub-genre of mystery novels that feature real-life historical figures as crime solvers. Some of these efforts seem a bit of a stretch, for example Emily Dickenson as a sleuth. On the other hand, quizzing neighbors and searching for clues might have appealed to Jane Austen.
Julia Child is the latest of these famous amateur detectives. The culinary capers by Colleen Cambridge are set in the late 1940s when Julia and her husband Paul lived in Paris, and Julia studied at the Cordon Bleu. In the novels, Julia is the Watson to her fictional neighbor, American Tabitha Knight.
Not very good, but during the course of the investigations, Julia cooks some memorable meals.
