The Silver-Haired Sisterhood (the further adventures of the Five French Hens) by Judy Leigh
The Five French Hens are back in another improbable adventure. (Old ladies do not really live like this, and I should know! But I am happy to suspend disbelief at least for the time it takes to fly from BNA to LGA!)
Four years after their hen party in Paris, the five friends gather for Tess’s birthday. It is November, and the group excitedly discuss their pre-Christmas travel plans. Pam is traveling to Greece, and Jen is taking an Islandic cruise. Della and her husband are headed to Paris where Rose lives and works. Only Tess, finally divorced from cheating Allan, is stuck at home. Never one to sit still, Tess spots an internet ad for a beautiful hotel on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. On impulse, she books a trip.
The Hotel Sićin Órga , so enticingly portrayed online, is a huge disappointment. The locals are depressed and/or drunk, and it is COLD. But Tess sees opportunity, and soon the other gals arrive to lend a hand. Fun and romance reliably follow.
