The Arc of the Swallow by S.J. Gazan

The Arc of the Swallow is the second in Danish author S.J.  Gazan’s series featuring Deputy Chief Superintendent Søren Marhauge of Copenhagen’s Violent Crimes Unit.

As in her first novel, The Dinosaur Feather, the crime scene is the University of Copenhagen.  Renowned vaccine scientist Kristian Storm is dead of an apparent suicide. His protégée, biology PhD candidate Marie Skov, doesn’t believe it. And when evidence of sabotaged research data and another suspicious death come to light, Marhauge doesn’t either. 

Gazna gives Marhauge and Skov rich back stories while maintaining a fast-paced plot which explores the uneasy alliance between Big Pharma, government, and academia.
