The Ending Writes Itself by Evelyn Clarke
Six authors are invited to spend the weekend at the isolated island home of the famous author Arthur Fletch. This is a surprising invitation for these second-tier authors, and they all eagerly accept as a favorable word from Arthur could catapult their books to the best seller lists.
Upon arrival at Fletch’s gloomy castle, they are informed that Arthur is dead, and this is a competition to finish his much-anticipated final manuscript. The prize for the best ending of the six is loads of money and a three-book deal! But there are a few rules– no phones or laptops, and no leaving the island ahead of the 72-hour deadline. (Pen and paper provided!)
Uh oh!
How far would a struggling author go to win the competition? On the first dark and stormy night of this doomed house party, we find out!
A clever, face-paced, closed-circle mystery and an entertaining portrait of the publishing business.
