Standing in the Shadows a DCI Banks novel by Peter Robinson
Alice Poole was murdered in 1980; the case remains unsolved. Decades later, DCI Banks and his team investigate the skeleton of a recently deceased man found in a Yorkshire field. The two cases have nothing in common, but yet…
Like all Robinson novels, Standing in the Shadows is that rare police procedural which includes not only plenty of action but a cast of well-developed characters.
Robinson died in October 2022, so this is the last of a great series. If you have not read the previous twenty-seven DCI Banks novels, get thee to the library!
(For those of us who found the improbable character Nelia/Zelda an unnecessary addition to recent Banks novels, rest assured she is not present in the final novel.)
